Stewart named NJAC Rookie of the Week

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Morrisville State College freshman defensive back, Jeremy Stewart (Moravia, NY) has been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Defensive Rookie of the Week for the week ending November 13.

Stewart earns the honors for the second time this season, after playing a key role in Morrisville State’s 48-25 conference win over Western Connecticut State University. He tallied five tackles, four solo stops, and notched a pair of interceptions, one of which was returned 25-yards for a touchdown.

He also blocked a punt which led to a special teams score in the win.

The 2010 graduate of Moravia High is majoring in sports, nutrition and fitness management at Morrisville State. He is the son of Sandra and Charles Wilkinson of Moravia.

Morrisville State College offers more than 80 bachelor and associate degrees and options. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine.

The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus offers associate degree programs in accounting, business, computer systems technology, office administration, liberal arts transfer, nursing, early childhood, criminal justice and human services to south central New York residents and employers. Students may also apply coursework to other associate or bachelor degrees at the main campus.
