Morrisville State women’s soccer adds Simon to coaching staff

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Morrisville State College athletic director, Greg Carroll, and women’s soccer head coach, Chris Perkins, announced the addition of Hillary Simon to the coaching staff this fall.

Simon enjoyed a stellar four-year career as a member of the elite Nazareth College women’s soccer and basketball programs, earning numerous accolades throughout her career while leading the women’s soccer program to the Empire 8 finals for four straight seasons, ECAC Championship in 2007 and NCAA Tournament in 2008.

Throughout her time with the Golden Flyers soccer program, Simon was a four-time Empire 8 team selection, earning first team honors in her final three seasons. In 2010, she was named the Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Year, while earning NSCAA East Region Team honors as a goalkeeper.

Success was not limited to the field for Simon, who also collected NSCAA Scholar All-East Team honors twice, ESPN/College Sports Information Directors of America 2010 Academic All-District Team honors while earning a nomination for the NCAA Woman of the Year award.

The Homer, N.Y. native was a nine year participant with the Crown City Futbol Club/EUSA before joining the association as a camp counselor for the past five years.

Simon is scheduled to earn her bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry (concentration pre-med) from Nazareth in May.
