Morrisville State College offers non-credit child abuse training course

MORRISVILLE, NY – August 15, 2005 - Morrisville State College is offering a three-hour child abuse training course.

The course, Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse Training, will be held Aug. 30 from 6-9 p.m. on the Morrisville campus. It will be offered again Oct. 4.

The New York State Education Department requires healthcare, education and other licensed professionals to be trained in identifying and reporting child abuse. This course provides critical information about child abuse/maltreatment identification and reporting, behavioral indicators, as well as social service law and other mandates.

Tuition is $40.

Morrisville State College also offers a variety of other non-credit courses including Introduction to Photoshop, Introduction to Spreadsheets, Community First Aid and Safety, Publicity and Promotion for Your Business or Event, Cardio Kickboxing, Journal Writing, Living Beyond Loss: Becoming Yourself in the Face of Change and Transition, Bridge Made Easy (offered at a nearby location), Meditation and Self-Massage Techniques, and six different dental courses.

Registration is under way for classes which begin in August, September, October and November. Space is limited and advance registration is recommended. Tuition is waived for Morrisville State College alumni.
