Morrisville State College to Host Gospel Choir Jan. 25

MORRISVILLE, N.Y.--Morrisville State College will sponsor a special concert at Madison Hall on Jan. 25 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. as part of its Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration.

The college will host Chevelle Moore with the Sounds of Eternity, a gospel group, made up of members Chevelle Moore, Brian Moore, Qunionn McLean, Reggie Procks, Chaonaine Moore and Zashalise Moore.

Chevelle Moore has performed at many venues in Central New York, including The New York State Fair and Syracuse University’s Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration.

The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

This event is made possible through the President’s Office and the Sheila Johnson Institute. Named after Sheila Johnson, philanthropist and cofounder of Black Entertainment Television, the Johnson Institute provides support for diversity and character-building initiatives for students and the college community by offering scholarships and providing diversity-oriented, character-building and leadership programming.

Morrisville State College offers 12 bachelor degrees and a wide variety of associate degrees and options. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine. The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus also offers programs in business, technologies, liberal arts/education transfer, and nursing to Chenango County area residents and employers.
