Scornaienchi named SUNYAC Rookie of the Week

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced its player of the week awards, naming Morrisville State College freshman defenseman, Anthony Scornaienchi (Stoney Creek, Ontario) the Ice Hockey Rookie of the Week for the week ending December 2.

Scornaienchi posted three goals in a 1-1-1 week for the Mustangs, including two in the 5-4 conference victory over Brockport on Saturday. His other tally on the week was the game equalizer with 3.4 seconds remaining in the 3-3 overtime draw against Hamilton.

To date on the season, he has tallied three goals and assisted another two for five team points.

Scornaienchi is majoring in business administration at Morrisville State and is the son of Leanne and Frank Scornaienchi of Stoney Creek, Ontario.
