Car Show to be Held During Mustang Weekend at Morrisville State College

MORRISVILLE, N.Y.-–Morrisville State College will host an Auto Cruise-In car show during its Mustang Weekend celebration Sept. 29 and 30.

The Auto Cruise-In will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 30 at the college’s Automotive Technology Building. Participants may enter cars, trucks and motorcycles in the show. There is no admission fee for vehicle entries or spectators.

During the car show, there will also be an open house at the Automotive Technology Building. The building, which won a design award, features a showroom and some of the most technologically advanced equipment in the automotive industry.

Owners will have another opportunity to show their vehicles by driving in the Alumni Parade at 11 a.m. Anyone interested in driving their vehicle in the parade should meet at the Elementary School on Eaton Street by 10:30 a.m. Trophies will be awarded for the best student vehicle, alumni vehicle and open class vehicle.

The Auto Cruise-In is sponsored by the Morrisville State College Alumni Association, Automotive Club and Student Activities.

Mustang Weekend is open to Morrisville State College students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni and emeriti as well as members of the community.

Other activities scheduled for the weekend include campus tours, a floral design contest, massages by students in the college’s massage therapy program, a campus carnival, parade, picnic and fireworks.

All activities will take place on the Morrisville State College campus. Generous funding collaboration allows the campus to host the majority of Mustang Weekend programs with minimal cost to participants.

Mustang Weekend is made possible with support from the village of Morrisville and the following Morrisville State College organizations: Admission Office, Alumni/Development Office, Athletics Department, Campus Activities Board (CAB), Community/Campus Relations Committee, Morrisville Auxiliary Corporation (MAC) and the President’s Office.

Morrisville State College offers 13 bachelor degrees and a wide variety of associate degrees and options. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine. The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus also offers programs in business, technologies, liberal arts/education transfer, nursing and a new standalone degree in early childhood to Chenango County area residents and employers.
