Yankees strength and conditioning coach to speak at Morrisville State College

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Dana Cavalea, strength and conditioning coach with the New York Yankees Organization will be holding a seminar on Saturday, October 14th at 1:30 p.m. in the Student Activities gymnasium on the Morrisville State College campus.

Cavalea will be speaking on strength and conditioning, targeting arm strength, and the steps to take to prevent injuries while competing. A portion of his seminar will focus on the proper warm-up and nutrition for the student-athlete.

The seminar is open to the public for no admission charge.

Also on October 14th, Morrisville State College will be hosting a Fall Fastpitch Festival featuring youth, college and women’s major teams from Pennsylvania and the Netherlands at Morrisville State’s softball facility on Eaton Street.

Games will kick off with the Syracuse Stingers Youth competing against the Salt City Stealers at 9 a.m. followed by the Topton VIP’s women’s major playing an exhibition game against Morrisville State College at 10:30.

At 12 p.m. the Topton VIP’s will play the Centrals, DeBilt Netherland Dames followed by Morrisville State in an exhibition game against the Netherland Dames. At 2:45 the Syracuse Renegades Youth will play the Onondaga Impact.

Admission for the Fall Festival is open to the public at no cost. Additional information for this event can be obtained by calling the Morrisville State softball office at 315-684-6259.

Morrisville State College offers 12 bachelor degrees and a wide variety of associate degrees and options.
