Morrisville State College Hires Director of Development

MORRISVILLE, N.Y.— John McBride was recently hired by Morrisville State College as Director of Development. He will focus on building corporate relationships and raising funds for the college’s automotive programs.

“John has an incredible passion for cars and his expertise truly compliments the growth of our automotive programs; I can tell he is excited by the opportunity to help the Morrisville College Foundation obtain additional support from private sources for the students, faculty, and state-of-the-art facilities in these programs and for the college as a whole,” James Hastie, vice president for institutional advancement, said.

“There are so many exciting things happening at Morrisville State College, and I’m glad to be a part of something that is so vibrant,” McBride said.

McBride previously served as former vice president/relationship manager for J.P. Morgan Chase.

He received an associate degree in business and bachelor degree in political science from SUNY Empire State College, and a master’s degree in public administration from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School.

McBride and his wife, Linda, live in Onondaga with their daughter, Bailey.

Morrisville State College offers more than 70 bachelor and associate degrees. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine. The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus also offers programs in business, technologies, liberal arts/education transfer, and nursing to Chenango County area residents and employers.
