Keuka rolls to win over Morrisville laxmen

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Keuka College men’s lacrosse team rolled to a win Saturday afternoon, topping Morrisville State College 21-5 on Drake Field.

Keuka College took control of the contest, netting their first goal of the game at the 13:26 mark in the first period. Within minutes the Storm built their lead to two before rounding out the quarter with a 4-0 lead.

Keuka went on a roll in the second period, netting four straight before Morrisville State was able to put a score on the board with just under eight minutes to go as Joseph Blitman (Syracuse, NY) recorded the tally.

Keuka put the game away in the fourth, capitalizing on two of four extra man opportunities while recording four additional scores for the win.

Blitman led Morrisville State with two goals as Tim Barth (Rush, NY) added two and Zack Sudik (East Syracuse, NY) one. Goalkeeper, Phil Picard (Shrus Oak, NY) tallied 17 saves in the loss.

Adam Farrell and Ryan Burton combined for nine goals and three assists to lead the Storm (3-4) to the non-conference win. Chad Green recorded the win, saving four.

Morrisville State (0-7) returns to the field Wednesday at Misericordia College.

Morrisville State College offers more than 70 bachelor and associate degrees. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine. The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus also offers programs in business, technologies, liberal arts/education transfer, and nursing to Chenango County area residents and employers.
