Morrisville State softball sweeps Medaille College

MORRISVILLE, N.Y.¬ – The Morrisville State College softball team swept Medaille College Monday afternoon, 1-0 and 5-0, in Morrisville.

In game one, Melissa Robb (Marcellus, NY) recorded a single in the bottom sixth inning to drive Jessica Squire (Hinckley, NY) home tallying the lone run of the contest giving Morrisville State the 1-0 lead and eventual win.

Kim Acker (Blue Point, NY) recorded the win on the mound for Morrisville State, allowing three hits while compiling three strike outs.

In game two, Squire went 2-for-4 from the plate including a double, driving Jill Pedulla (Peru, NY) home in the bottom of the third inning for the game winning score.

Acker and Pedulla each recorded two hits at three at bats for the Mustangs.

Acker recorded the win on the mound for Morrisville State, allowing two hits while striking out two.

Morrisville State returns to the field Thursday at Buffalo State, game time is scheduled for 3 pm on the Buffalo campus.

Morrisville State College offers more than 70 bachelor and associate degrees. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones.
