Morrisville State's Robinson named to Oswego Volleyball all-Tournament team

MORRISVILLE, N.Y.– Morrisville State junior setter, Jessica Robinson (Carmel, NY/Carmel), was recently named to the Oswego State Volleyball Invitational all-Tournament team held October 12-13 in Oswego.

Robinson recorded 13 kills, three service aces, and 58 assists as Morrisville State went 1-3 on the weekend. She also tallied three defensive digs in the Mustangs efforts.

Robinson leads the team in assists per game, averaging 5.46 per game, while tallying 502 on the season, leading the team to an 8-23 overall record.

A 2004 graduate of Carmel High School, Robinson is majoring in sports, nutrition and fitness management at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Kathleen VanCoughnett of Carmel, New York.

Morrisville State enters its second year as a provisional member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Division III in 2007. Upon successful completion of the provisional period, Morrisville State will be a candidate for full accreditation as a member of the NCAA.

Morrisville State College offers more than 70 bachelor and associate degrees. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine. The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus also offers programs in business, technologies, liberal arts/education transfer, and nursing to Chenango County area residents and employers.
