St. John Fisher defeats Morrisville State Volleyball 3-0

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Morrisville State College women’s volleyball team fell to visiting St John Fisher Tuesday night 3-0 in Morrisville.

St. John Fisher defeated Morrisville State in the first game 30-26, 30-8 in the second game, and 30-17 in the third.

Hannah Cordes (Manlius, NY/Cazenovia) led the Cardinals with 32 assists, 10 digs, and four kills on the night. Mary Beth Dillion (Churchville, NY/Churchville-Chili) recorded 18 digs and three assists and Jessie Pegler (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) recorded 11 digs and seven kills to help the Cardinals defeat the Mustangs. St. John Fisher improves to 15-14 on the season.

Michelle Neadom (DeRuyter, NY/DeRuyter) led the Mustangs with seven kills and six digs on the evening. Christina Fenaroli (Monroe,CT/Masuk) recorded five kills and digs for the Mustangs. Morrisville State falls to 7-23 overall.

Morrisville State returns to the court Wednesday night against SUNYIT. Game time is scheduled for 7 pm in Morrisville.

Morrisville State enters its second year as a provisional member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Division III in 2007. Upon successful completion of the provisional period, Morrisville State will be a candidate for full accreditation as a member of the NCAA.

Morrisville State College offers more than 70 bachelor and associate degrees. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine. The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus also offers programs in business, technologies, liberal arts/education transfer, and nursing to Chenango County area residents and employers.
