Morisville State and SUNY Brockport football game to be televised

MORRISVILLE, N.Y.– Morrisville State College and Time Warner Sports of Central New York have reached an agreement to televise Morrisville State College’s first home NCAA football contest on Saturday, October 27 as the Mustangs take on SUNY Brockport 1 p.m.

“We’re really excited about having Time Warner back on campus. They do a great job and their presence on campus inherently adds a lot of excitement to the day’s game. We’re very proud of all things happening at Morrisville and having Time Warner here represents a great vehicle for spreading the word about the college,” Greg Carroll, Morrisville State director of athletics, said. “We are very excited to have this chance to have others be part of our transition to the NCAA.”

The broadcast can be seen exclusively on Time Warner Sports for Time Warner Cable for audiences from Albany to Buffalo and Binghamton to the Canadian border. For the local Syracuse broadcast, viewers can see the game live on Time Warner Sports channel 26.

The athletic program at Morrisville State administers 16 intercollegiate athletic teams and a full schedule of intramural athletic opportunities.

This fall, Morrisville State enters its second year as a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association ® (NCAA), Division III. The Mustangs travel to Mount Ida College November 3rd for their final road game of season, game time is scheduled for 12 p.m. The Mustangs will finish their 2007 season as they host Wesley College November 10th in Morrisville at 1 p.m.

Morrisville State College offers 12 bachelor degrees and a wide variety of associate degrees and options. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine. The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus also offers programs in business, technologies, liberal arts/education transfer, and nursing to Chenango County area residents and employers.
