Morrisville State men's soccer concludes season with 3-0 loss to SUNY Plattsburgh

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Morrisville State men’s soccer fell to SUNY Plattsburgh Saturday afternoon 3-0 to conclude season.

SUNY Plattsburgh’s Mike Pinamonti (Farmingville, NY/Sachem East) connected on a cross to Chris Mitchell (Pickering, ON/St. Martin’s Secondary) to give the Cardinals a 1-0 led 15:23 into the contest.

Six minutes later Gilbe Francillon (Brooklyn Midwood, NY) connected with Dave Widemaier (Perth, ON/St. John’s Catholic Secondary) on a cross that put the Cardinals up 2-0.

Andrew Fusco (Lake Grove, NY/Centereach) added a goal late in the contest to give the Cardinals a 3-0 victory over the Mustangs.

John San Filippo (Levittown, NY/Division HS) recorded the win in goal for Plattsburgh saving two. Plattsburgh improves to 12-2-2 overall, 7-2-2 in SUNYAC competition.

Paolo Sardella (Keene, NY/Keene) recorded three saves in the loss for the Mustangs, who end the season 5-12 overall, 1-10-0 in SUNYAC competition.

Morrisville State enters its second year as a provisional member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Division III in 2007. Upon successful completion of the provisional period, Morrisville State will be a candidate for full accreditation as a member of the NCAA.

Morrisville State College offers more than 70 bachelor and associate degrees. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine. The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus also offers programs in business, technologies, liberal arts/education transfer, and nursing to Chenango County area residents and employers.
