Morrisville State's hunt seat eighth at Skidmore

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. - The Morrisville State College hunt seat team tallied 25 team points in their eighth place finish Saturday afternoon at Skidmore College.

Brooke Torreulla (Hartwick, NY) led Morrisville State with a first and second place finish in the novice equitation over fences and novice equitation on the flat class, respectively.

Aileen Couture (Ithaca, NY) had a first place showing in the novice on the flat class while Meghan Hathaway (Cortland, NY) placed second in the intermediate over fences class to round out the top place finishers. Several Mustangs placed third and fourth in their respective classes for the show.

Morrisville State returns to the riding arena February 17 at Cornell University.

Morrisville State enters its second year as a provisional member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Division III in 2007. Upon successful completion of the provisional period, Morrisville State will be a candidate for full accreditation as a member of the NCAA.

Morrisville State College offers more than 70 bachelor and associate degrees. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine. The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus also offers programs in business, technologies, liberal arts/education transfer, and nursing to Chenango County area residents and employers.
