New Paltz women cruise to win over Morrisville State

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Freshman Artie Williams (Newburgh, NY) netted 20 points to lead visiting SUNY New Paltz to their third SUNYAC win Saturday afternoon over Morrisville State in Morrisville.

The Mustangs were out sized and out matched, as SUNY New Paltz held the 50-24 halftime lead. Nicole Sarcone (Staten Island, NY) added ten for the Hawks to round out the leading scorers of the contest.

Morrisville State’s Sydney Pajack (Syracuse, NY) led the Mustangs with eight points and five rebounds as teammate Shanee Pierce (Bronx, NY) contributed seven points and nine boards to the Mustangs efforts.

Morrisville State returns to the court Friday at SUNY Geneseo. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Geneseo.

Morrisville State enters its second year as a provisional member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Division III in 2007. Upon successful completion of the provisional period, Morrisville State will be a candidate for full accreditation as a member of the NCAA.

Morrisville State College offers more than 70 bachelor and associate degrees. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine. The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus also offers programs in business, technologies, liberal arts/education transfer, and nursing to Chenango County area residents and employers.
