Five place at John Summa Wrestling Invitational

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Five Morrisville State College wrestlers placed at the 22nd annual John Summa Wrestling Invitational Tournament over the weekend.

Vito Argese (Marcellus, NY) placed third in the 125 pound weight class defeating Tyler Erin of Baldwin-Wallace 6-4. At 133 pounds, Aljamain Sterling (Uniondale, NY) was defeated 5-4 by Brian Bucher of Baldwin Wallace for the second place finish.

Toby Reese (Homer, NY) defeated RayShawn Eatmon of Baldwin Wallace 4-2 to claim the championship in the 149 pound weight class. At 174, Mike Ezzo (Sherburne, NY) was defeated by Eric Monday of Washington & Jefferson 7-0 for fourth place.

James Lamonica (Staten Island, NY) was pinned by Adam Abelhamed of RIT for the fourth place finish.

Morrisville State returns to the mats on Wednesday at Oswego State, the match is scheduled to beginat 8 p.m.

Morrisville State enters its second year as a provisional member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Division III in 2007. Upon successful completion of the provisional period, Morrisville State will be a candidate for full accreditation as a member of the NCAA.

Morrisville State College offers more than 70 bachelor and associate degrees. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine. The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus also offers programs in business, technologies, liberal arts/education transfer, and nursing to Chenango County area residents and employers.
