Oswego wins final six bouts in wrestling dual with Morrisville

OSWEGO - The Oswego State wrestling team defeated Morrisville State College 30-12 in a dual meet on Wednesday at Max Ziel Gymnasium in Oswego. After falling behind 12-4 in the dual, the Lakers won the last six bouts, including the final three by seniors wrestling for the last time in their home gym.

Cam Mills (165 pounds) and Jake Taylor (285) won by pin for the Lakers, with both falls coming in the first period. Derrick Smith (141), Marc Collins (157), and Ron Williams (197) won by major decision for Oswego State.

Morrisville won the first bout of the night at 125 when Vito Argese pinned Adeel Arshad at 6:10. Aljamain Sterling and Toby Reese also earned wins by decision for the Mustangs.

Mills' pin put Oswego State in front 14-12 in the dual, and Craig Becker won the 174 bout by overtime decision for the Lakers to give Oswego State a 17-12 lead at that point. Jared Teal won by decision at 184 and fellow seniors Williams and Taylor dominated their matches to cap a winning night for the Lakers.
