SUNY Geneseo men's basketball defeats Morrisville 71-60

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College men’s basketball team fell to visiting SUNY Geneseo 71-60 Saturday afternoon in Morrisville.

SUNY Geneseo was led by Scott Morton (Syracuse, NY) who recorded 15 of his 24 points in the first half to help the Knights to a 38-29 half-time lead. Jeff Howe (Niskayuna, NY) chipped in with 13 points and six assists to help the Knights improve to 15-7 overall and 8-5 in SUNYAC competition.

The Mustangs were led by freshman forward Taylor Foster (White Plains, NY) with 21 points and Kyle Buel (Franklin, NY) added a career high 13 points. Adebowale Olasokan (Brooklyn, NY) added 12 points hitting four from three point land. The Mustangs fall to 5-14 overall and 2-11 in SUNYAC competition.

Morrisville State College returns to the court Friday February 15 against Oswego in Morrisville, game time at 8 p.m.

Morrisville State enters its second year as a provisional member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Division III in 2007. Upon successful completion of the provisional period, Morrisville State will be a candidate for full accreditation as a member of the NCAA.

Morrisville State College offers more than 70 bachelor and associate degrees. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine. The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus also offers programs in business, technologies, liberal arts/education transfer, and nursing to Chenango County area residents and employers.
