Morrisville State student-athletes make the grade

56 named to the SUNYAC Spring Commissioner's List and All-Academic Team
MORRISVILLE, N.Y.– State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Commissioner Patrick Damore recently announced the Spring 2008 Commissioner’s List and All-Academic Team selections.

To qualify for the Commissioner’s List academic honor, the student-athlete must be a varsity athlete, competed for the entire winter and/or spring season and have maintained a cumulative 3.3 grade point average for at least three semesters. Those named to the All-Academic Team must have earned at least a 3.3 grade point average during their season of competition.

Morrisville State had 56 individuals earn the academic honor, 27 of which were named to the Commissioners List.

Morrisville State enters its third year as a provisional member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Division III in 2008. Upon successful completion of the provisional period, Morrisville State will be a candidate for full accreditation as a member of the NCAA.

Morrisville State College offers more than 75 bachelor and associate degrees and options with eight new degrees being offered this fall: entrepreneurship and small business management, B.B.A.; nursing, B.S.; science, technology, and society, B.S.; journalism and communication for online media, B.S.; horticulture business management, B.T.; human performance and health promotion, B.S.; criminal justice, A.A.S. (Norwich Campus only); and human services, A.A.S. (Norwich Campus only).

Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine.
