Oneonta women cruise to SUNYAC win over Morrisville

MORRISVILLE, N.Y.– Visiting SUNY Oneonta women’s soccer cruised to a SUNYAC win Wednesday afternoon, handing Morrisville State a 6-0 loss on Lemery Field in Morrisville.

Lauren McGee (Old Bethpage, NY) paced the Dragons with two goals and an assist, the first just 2:26 into the contest off a cross from Meredith Clinton (Rexford, NY). McGee struck again just over five minutes later off a bobble in the box from a corner kick opportunity.

Lindsey Brechbiel (Garnerville, NY) increased the Dragons lead to three, heading the ball off a cross from McGee in the 19th minute. In the closing seconds the half, Brechbiel netted her second of the afternoon off a pass from Laura Pierino (Clifton Park, NY).

In the second, Caitlin Burke (Manorville, NY) added to the Oneonta tallies, netting an unassisted score from the top of the box. Christine Marra (Thiells, NY) tallied the final score for the Dragons from nearly five meters above the top of the box off a pass from Brittney Reilly (LaGrangeville, NY).

Katie Tiffany (DeRuyter, NY) recorded the loss for Morrisville State, saving 26 as the Mustangs fall to 0-15 overall (0-8 SUNYAC).

Kayla Murphy (Pine City, NY) recorded the win for Oneonta who improves to 10-4-1 on the season, 7-1 in SUNYAC action. Amy Lusby (West Babylon, NY) played the final 24:32 in net, saving none. Oneonta fired 60 shots at goal, while holding the Mustangs to none.
