Eddy leads Morrisville State men to win over Albany Pharmacy

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Sophomore Bryan Eddy (Brooklyn, NY) netted 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, his first collegiate double-double, to lead the Morrisville State College men’s basketball team to a 75-57 non-conference win over Albany College of Pharmacy Wednesday night in Morrisville.

Eddy tallied 13 in the first half, leading Morrisville State to a 35-21 halftime lead over the Panthers, while netting 7-of-11 shots from the floor on the night.

Andre Simon (Brooklyn, NY) added 11 points and six boards to the win while Garnell Vaughn (Syracuse, NY) netted ten points and grabbed five rebounds. Elonzo Wilson (Syracuse, NY) had a collegiate high nine assists, while netting nine points off the bench for the Mustangs.

Ben Sheppard (Clifton Springs, NY) scored 12 points and had four assists as teammate Peter Aiken (Pottersville, NY) added ten points and eight boards to Albany’s efforts. Bryan Jones (Gouverneur, NY) contributed nine points and 12 rebounds on the night.

Morrisville State (2-12) returns to the court Friday night, hosting Oswego State at 8 p.m. in the John W Stewart Center for Student Activities gymnasium.

Morrisville State enters its third year as a provisional member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Division III in 2008. Upon successful completion of the provisional period, Morrisville State will be a candidate for full accreditation as a member of the NCAA.

Morrisville State College offers more than 75 bachelor and associate degrees and options. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine.

The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus offers associate degree programs in accounting, business, computer systems technology, office administration, liberal arts transfer, nursing, early childhood, criminal justice and human services to south central New York residents and employers. Students may also apply coursework to other associate or bachelor degrees at the main campus.
