2009 Morrisville State College football schedule announced

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Morrisville State College released its 2009 football schedule, sending the Mustangs on the road for nearly all of its 10 game schedule, with the three “home” games being played off-site at Andy Kerr Stadium on the Colgate University campus while construction on the college’s stadium gets underway late this summer.

The Mustangs, who finished 1-9 overall last season (0-9 NJAC), enters their second season as a member of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) with a nine-game conference slate beginning September 12.

Morrisville State begins the season on the road, the first of five straight road games, on Saturday, September 5 at Hartwick College for a 7 p.m. kick-off. The following week, Morrisville State travels to last year’s NJAC Champion, SUNY Cortland, to open conference play. Trips to Montclair State University, College of New Jersey and Western Connecticut State University follow before the Mustangs return home to host William Paterson on October 10.

The Mustangs will meet Rowan on the 17th at home before hitting the road for two more, Kean on the 24th, and Brockport the 31st.

Morrisville State will conclude its regular season November 7th, hosting Buffalo State College.

Morrisville State begins active membership within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Division III in 2009-10 and is eligible for NCAA Championship Tournament play.

Morrisville State College offers more than 75 bachelor and associate degrees and options. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine.

The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus offers associate degree programs in accounting, business, computer systems technology, office administration, liberal arts transfer, nursing, early childhood, criminal justice and human services to south central New York residents and employers. Students may also apply coursework to other associate or bachelor degrees at the main campus.
