Morrisville State College Lines Up Events for Mustang Weekend Sept. 25-27

MORRISVILLE, N.Y.— Morrisville State College is gearing up for Mustang Weekend 2009, Sept. 25 through 27.

Among the lineup of activities scheduled are a 5k run and walk, campus tours, brunch, various entertainment, athletic events, a campus carnival and fireworks.

The Mustang Weekend celebration is open to Morrisville State College students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni and emeriti as well as members of the community.

Activities scheduled for Sept. 25 include: campus tours from 1 to 5 p.m., family dinner at 4:45 to 7 p.m. in Seneca Dining Hall; live entertainment at the college’s restaurant, the Copper Turret at 9 p.m.; ASUBA alumni reception at the Turning Stone Resort Casino at 10 p.m.

Highlights from events on Sept. 26 include: The annual Madison Hall 5K run and walk at 9 a.m.; massages by students in Health Technologies from 9 to 10:30 a.m.; alumni lacrosse game and Mustang volleyball tournament, both at 10 a.m.; horticulture open house and floral design contest from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Spader Horticulture Building; parade at 11 a.m.; alumni luncheon in Hamilton Hall from noon to 2 p.m.; automotive cruise-in (car show) sponsored by the Automotive Club at the Automotive Technology Building from noon to 4 p.m.

More events on Sept. 26 include: men’s Mustang soccer vs. SUNY Oswego at 1 p.m.; alumni class photos at Hamilton Hall from 2 to 3 p.m.; alumni campus tours from 3 to 4 p.m.; campus carnival sponsored by SGO from 3 to 7 p.m. in the academic quad; sock hop with Ruby Shooz (50s and 60s tribute band) from 4 to 7 p.m.; complimentary community/campus picnic in the academic quad from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.; family entertainer at 7 p.m. in the STUAC theater; fireworks at 8 p.m., entertainment by Eric Roberson in the STUAC theater at 9 p.m.

Sept. 27 events: ASUBA alumni prayer brunch farewell at the Turning Stone Resort Casino from 8 to 10 a.m.; farewell brunch at the Copper Turret from 9 to 11 a.m.

Mustang Weekend is made possible with support from the village of Morrisville and the following Morrisville State College organizations: Alumni/Development Office, Admissions Office, Athletics Department, Campus Activities Board (CAB), Community/Campus Relations Committee, Morrisville Auxiliary Corporation (MAC) and the President’s Office.

Morrisville State College offers more than 80 bachelor and associate degrees and options, including a new associate degree in renewable energy technology and bachelor degrees in business management and criminal justice.

The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus offers associate degree programs in accounting, business, computer systems technology, office administration, liberal arts transfer, nursing, early childhood, criminal justice and human services to south central New York residents and employers.
