Britton named NEAC Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week

MORRISVILLE, N.Y.– Morrisville State College volleyball senior outside hitter, Amanda Britton (Cazenovia, NY/Cazenovia) has been named the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, September 6.

Britton finished the week with a total 85 kills, 11 service aces, 73 defensive digs, 6 total blocks and 6.375 points per game for the Mustangs, leading Morrisville State to a 3-2 overall week, while garnering D’Youville College Spartan Volleyball All-Tournament Team honors.

Britton, an early childhood education major at Morrisville State College, is a 2006 graduate of Cazenovia High School. She is the daughter of Janet and Richard Britton of Cazenovia, N.Y.

Morrisville State is 3-2 on the season, and returns to the court tomorrow night at the SUNY Potsdam Volleyball Invitational.

Morrisville State begins active membership within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Division III in 2009-10 and is eligible for NCAA Championship Tournament play.

Morrisville State College offers more than 75 bachelor and associate degrees and options. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine.

The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus offers associate degree programs in accounting, business, computer systems technology, office administration, liberal arts transfer, nursing, early childhood, criminal justice and human services to south central New York residents and employers. Students may also apply coursework to other associate or bachelor degrees at the main campus.
