Morrisville State volleyball defeats Hamilton 3-0; win third straight

CLINTON, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College women’s volleyball team won their third straight, defeating host Hamilton College 3-0 with game scores of 25-11, 25-19 and 25-18 Tuesday night in Clinton.

Amanda Britton (Cazenovia, NY) led the Mustangs attacking game with 13 kills on the night, with teammate Ebony Whitfield (Benton Harbor, MI) adding 10. Keli Stewart (Interlaken, NY) recorded 23 assists.

Defensively, Casie Kimbrell (Croghan, NY) led the Mustangs with nine digs with Whitfield shortly behind with seven while stopping five at the net.

Morrisville State improved to 8-7 overall on the season, posting wins in the last 5-of-6 games played.

The Mustangs return to the court Friday at the SUNY Oswego Tournament.

Morrisville State begins active membership within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Division III in 2009-10 and is eligible for NCAA Championship Tournament play.

Morrisville State College offers more than 75 bachelor and associate degrees and options. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine.

The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus offers associate degree programs in accounting, business, computer systems technology, office administration, liberal arts transfer, nursing, early childhood, criminal justice and human services to south central New York residents and employers. Students may also apply coursework to other associate or bachelor degrees at the main campus.
