Penn State Berks edges Morrisville State men for 76-69 victory

READING, PA – Following an even first half, host Penn State Berks used an 18-2 run to open the second half enroute to the 76-69 victory over visiting Morrisville State College Saturday afternoon in Reading, PA.

Four netted double figures for the Lions, led by Vonte Shippen who turned in a 20 point, 10 rebound performance. Kemian Flowers added 18 points and 14 boards, while Brian Organtini and Adam Fusco chipped in 14 and 10 points respectively.

Freshman Larry Bowers (Inwood, NY) led Morrisville State with a collegiate high 16 points, hitting four three-pointers on the afternoon, as teammate Ron Tarver (Utica, NY) added 15, shooting 7-for-9 from the free throw line, to the Mustangs efforts. Kyle Gordon (Riverhead, NY) and Hodges Sneed (Syracuse, NY) each added eight points.

Morrisville State falls to 1-8 overall and returns to the court tomorrow afternoon at Penn State Abington for a 12 p.m. tip-off.

Morrisville State College offers more than 80 bachelor and associate degrees and options. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine.

The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus offers associate degree programs in accounting, business, computer systems technology, office administration, liberal arts transfer, nursing, early childhood, criminal justice and human services to south central New York residents and employers. Students may also apply coursework to other associate or bachelor degrees at the main campus.
