Keuka women cruise to win over Morrisville State

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Visiting Keuka College women’s basketball cruised to a 59-33 win Wednesday night over host Morrisville State College in Morrisville.

The Storm held Morrisville State to just 12 percent shooting from the floor in the first half, while holding the Mustangs to just 11 points, as Keuka went on a 16-0 en route to a commanding 33-11 halftime lead.

Morgan Engelbert (Elmira Heights, NY) led the Storm with 12 points, adding 12 rebounds for the double-double performance, while teammate Latasha Santana (Rochester, NY) added eight points and two assists for Keuka in the win.

Morrisville State’s Katrina Brown (Queens, NY) led all scorers with 21 points, adding four steals. Bette Davis (Bronx, NY) added six points to the Mustang efforts.

Morrisville State (3-15) returns to the court Saturday, hosting Penn State Abington at 1 p.m. in the John W. Stewart Center for Student Activities gymnasium.

Keuka improves to 8-5 overall and will return to the court Saturday, hosting Wilson College at 2 p.m.

Morrisville State College offers more than 80 bachelor and associate degrees and options. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine.

The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus offers associate degree programs in accounting, business, computer systems technology, office administration, liberal arts transfer, nursing, early childhood, criminal justice and human services to south central New York residents and employers. Students may also apply coursework to other associate or bachelor degrees at the main campus.
