Clarke leads Cazenovia to 67-43 win over Morrisville State

MORRISVILLE, NY – Colleen Clarke (Johnson City, NY) scored 20 and Megan McDermott (Greene, NY) added 14 points and 14 rebounds to lead visiting Cazenovia College women’s basketball to the 67-43 victory over Morrisville State Monday night in Morrisville.

Cazenovia (10-12) led 31-23 at the half before going on a 24-6 run over the first 12 minutes of the second half to take a commanding 55-29 lead over the Mustangs.

Christine Nichols (Syracuse, NY) added 11 points and Samantha Allen (Sackets Harbor, NY) nine assists in the win for the Wildcats.

Tekesha Hanson (Queens, NY) led Morrisville State with 19 points, hitting 5-of-9 from behind the arc, and added seven rebounds while teammate Katrina Brown (Queens, NY) tallied 11 points while stealing four to lead the Mustangs efforts.

Morrisville State (3-20) returns to the court Wednesday, traveling to SUNY IT, while Cazenovia’s next contest is their regular season finale against Wilson on Saturday.

Morrisville State College offers more than 80 bachelor and associate degrees and options. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine.

The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus offers associate degree programs in accounting, business, computer systems technology, office administration, liberal arts transfer, nursing, early childhood, criminal justice and human services to south central New York residents and employers. Students may also apply coursework to other associate or bachelor degrees at the main campus.
