Morrisville State's Cerbino named to SUNYAC All-Tournament Ice Hockey Team

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced the 2009 Ice Hockey All-Tournament Team, naming Morrisville State College’s Chris Cerbino (Highland, NY) to the team.

Cerbino, forward for the Mustangs, tallied a goal and assisted another in the semi-final round loss to Oswego.

On the year, the freshman tallied three goals and assisted 10 for 13 team points, two goals and seven assists in conference action.

Oswego’s Kevin Huinink was named the tournament’s most valuable player as a defender and is joined by the following other members of the team: Kyle Gunn-Taylor, goal, Oswego; Tyler Lyon, defense, Oswego; Chris Cerbino, forward, Morrisville State; Dylan Clarke, forward, Plattsburgh; and Tyler Leimbrock, forward, Oswego.

Cerbino is a 2009 graduate of Canterbury School and is majoring in individual studies at Morrisville. He is the son of Linda and Carl Cerbino of Highland, New York.

Morrisville State College offers more than 80 bachelor and associate degrees and options. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine.

The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus offers associate degree programs in accounting, business, computer systems technology, office administration, liberal arts transfer, nursing, early childhood, criminal justice and human services to south central New York residents and employers. Students may also apply coursework to other associate or bachelor degrees at the main campus.
