VanDeValk, Cristaldi lead Clarkson to win over Morrisville State women

POTSDAM, NY – Katie VanDeValk netted eight goals and assisted three and Alyssa Cristaldi six goals and three assists, to lead the Clarkson University women’s lacrosse team to a 23-7 win over visiting Morrisville State College Tuesday afternoon.

Leading by two just six minutes into the first half, Clarkson went on an eight goal run over the next 17 minutes for the commanding 10 goal lead before closing the half with four additional scores.

Carmen Velazquez (Syracuse, NY) led Morrisville State with two goals and an assist while five teammates each contributed a goal each.

Allison Strub (Clifton Springs, NY) recorded the loss in net, making five stops.

Morrisville State (4-7) returns to the field Friday, hosting Wells College at 4 p.m. on Drake Field in Morrisville.

Morrisville State College offers more than 80 bachelor and associate degrees and options. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus offers associate degree programs in accounting, business, computer systems technology, office administration, liberal arts transfer, nursing, early childhood, criminal justice and human services to south central New York residents and employers. Students may also apply coursework to other associate or bachelor degrees at the main campus.
