The losses drop the Fighting Tigers to 5-27 overall on the season with a 4-14 mark in NEAC action while Morrisville State improves to 9-25 overall with an 8-8 mark in league play.

In game one, after the Fighting Tigers scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 4-3 lead the Mustangs erupted for 11 runs over the final two innings capitalizing on three hit batters, two walks and four wild pitches to post a seven run sixth inning then making the home team pay for three errors and three walks in the seventh inning with a four run frame.

Mustang freshman designated hitter Kayla Walker, Oneida, NY, Oneida High School, led the visitor’s offense going 2-for-4 in the game with a pair of doubles, three RBI and two runs scored while senior shortstop Jessica Yates, North Rose, NY, North Rose-Walcott High School, went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI.

The Fighting Tigers received a strong offensive effort from freshman shortstop Alyson Sanders, Duanesburg, NY, Duanesburg High School, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored in a losing effort.

In the nightcap Morrisville State freshman right hander Amber Nichilo, Staten Island, NY, Tottenville High School, shut the door on the Fighting Tigers allowing only one run on three hits in five innings of work striking out four and walking only two for the win.

Alyson Sanders was 1-for-2 for Cobleskill at the plate driving in the Orange & Black’s only run of the contest.
