Hunter, Demers named Mustang Athletes of the Week

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College athletic department has named western rider, Kelly Hunter (Red Hook, NY), and football wide receiver, Ricky Demers (Wappinger Falls, NY) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 6.

Hunter collected two first place finishes in the Class 12A intermediate I equitation class on Saturday as the western team collected its first two wins of the 2011-12 season.

Hunter is a junior majoring in equine science at Morrisville State.

Demers caught three passes for 49 yards and a collegiate best two touchdowns and added 22 yards on two carries on the ground in the Mustangs efforts against Buffalo State.

Also a return specialist, Demers added 56 yards to his totals on the day with three kick returns for 56 yards, and a punt return for two yards.

The sophomore is majoring in liberal arts and sciences: humanities and social science at Morrisville State. He is the son of Lori and Ray Demers of Wappinger Falls.
