Bestselling true crime/mob author to speak at Morrisville State College

MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College will host a presentation by bestselling mob author, Dennis Griffin, on Oct. 11 at 9:30 a.m. in the Little Theatre of the James W. Stewart Center for Student Activities (STUAC).

The event, which is sponsored by the Criminal Justice Department and the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) faculty/staff and students, is free and open to the public.

Griffin, who grew up in Rome, NY, is the author of The Battle of Las Vegas - The Law vs. the Mob; CULLOTTA - The Life of a Chicago Criminal, Las Vegas Mobster, and Government Witness, a biographical expose about Frank Cullotta’s life of crime; Surviving the Mob and countless other books, many which were bestsellers.

During his presentation, he will discuss the rise and fall of the mobsters of the mid-1980s, who were based in Las Vegas, which is also the premise for his book The Battle of Las Vegas - The Law vs. the Mob.

An organized crime buff, Griffin began his career as a private investigator with Pinkerton’s Inc., working mostly undercover assignments, which ultimately led to a position as the Director of Investigations with the New York State Department of Health Laboratory Division. Prior to his career as an author, he was a Senior Child Support Investigator and sheriff’s deputy in Madison County.
