Visiting Morrisville State College took an early lead over host Rowan College, but couldn't hold on as the Profs recorded the 34-21 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) victory Saturday afternoon in Glassboro.
The loss drops the Mustangs to 1-7 overall, 1-6 in conference action while Rowan improves to 7-1 overall, 6-1 in the NJAC.

The Morrisville State College men's ice hockey team opened the 2010-2011 season with a 9-2 loss to Elmira College Friday night in Elmira.
Elmira opened up the contest with three scores in the first two minutes, twenty-three seconds, and added a fourth nine minutes in, for the commanding 4-0 lead after a single period.

The Morrisville State College field hockey team dropped a 2-1 overtime non-conference decision to host University of Rochester Friday night in Rochester, falling to 8-9 overall on the season.
Playing to a scoreless first half, Morrisville State's Jamie Anderson (Harpursville, NY) posted the first score of the afternoon, settling a loose ball on a penalty corner play for a score into the left lower corner of the net in the 54th minute.

Ricky DeMers pulled out a pair of gloves, grabbed a small brush and proceeded to lift fingerprints off of a mirror. Nearby, Justin DeLaMothe was photographing scattered evidence—an ax, littered coins, glass, and multiple contusions on a female victim's arm.
The mock park crime scene was just one created in assistant professor Clare Armstrong-Seward's Introduction to Criminal Justice class to provide students with a learning experience in collecting evidence.

The Mustangs fell to SUNY Oswego 3-0 tonight in Morrisville. Oswego took the set 25-17, 25-15 and 25-20. Morrisville's record falls to 7-21 overall.
Nicole Wright (Dryden, NY) led the team with seven kills, one set assist, five defensive digs and two solo blocks. Angelina Ciaschi (Ithaca, NY) added four kills, one solo block and one set assist.

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) recently announced its student-athlete of the week selections for the week ending October 24, naming Morrisville State sophomore Austin Townsley (Horseheads, NY) the men's cross country runner of the week.
Townsley finished the 8k Heron Invitational in second place out of 30 runners with a time of 28:28, a 5:43 per mile pace, to lead the Mustangs. He has posted three top 10 finishes to date for the men.

The Morrisville State College men's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking loss Tuesday night, as visiting Keuka Storm notched the 1-0 overtime North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory on Drake Field in Morrisville.
A foul with just under three minutes to go in the overtime period proved costly for Morrisville State as Christian Sterner redirected a Brian Cunliffe free kick, a header, for the game winning score.

Morrisville State College's Renewable Energy Training Center (RETC) will hold a workshop on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency at four different locations from Nov. 6 to 17.
The first workshop will be held on Nov. 6, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Syracuse Educational Opportunity Center (EOC), with video conferencing taking place at the Rochester and Buffalo EOC locations.

Austin Townsley (Horseheads, NY) came in second, with a time of 28:28, to lead the Morrisville State College men's cross country team at the Heron Invitational held at William Smith College Saturday morning.
Only 24 seconds behind Townsley, Ben Sargrad (Manlius, NY) claimed third place, posting a time of 28:52. Tim Austen (Clifton Park, NY) crossed the finish line with a time of 29:38 for sixth place to round out the top 10 finishers for the men.

Visiting nationally ranked SUNY Cortland cruised to a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) victory Saturday afternoon, posting a 42-6 win over host Morrisville State College on Drake Field in Morrisville.
Cortland opened the scoring with a 64-yard rushing touchdown by Justin Autera on the first play of the game to give the Red Dragons the early 7-0 lead.

The Morrisville State men's soccer team beat SUNY Cobleskill 1-0 today in Cobleskill. The Mustangs' overall record rises to 8-6-1.
Andrew Brobbey (Bronx, NY) scored the only goal of the game unassisted 52 minutes into the game.
Goalkeeper Shane Sullivan (Sherrill, NY) shut out SUNY Cobleskill, saving three and playing all 90 minutes in net.

Morrisville State took the 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute as Erin Rundle (Marathon, NY) crossed the ball to Beth Fisher (Bolton Landing, NY) who put the ball into the undefended net for the score.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) released its 2010-11 preseason men's ice hockey coaches poll Thursday afternoon, ranking Morrisville State College sixth overall.
Oswego earned the top spot, followed by Plattsburgh, Geneseo, Fredonia, Potsdam, Morrisville, Brockport, Cortland and Buffalo State.

Morrisville State College will host “Field to Fork in Central New York,” a public educational event on food systems and how they impact our health.
The event, Nov.- 11-16, includes presentations, a writing contest, meals made with local foods, a panel discussion and a film viewing. The event is free with the exception of the Mustang Alley local cuisine meal, which costs $4.75 plus tax, and is open to the public.

Keyser, outside hitter for the women's volleyball team, was instrumental to the Mustangs North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) pool play over the weekend as Morrisville State compiled a 2-6 conference record.

Morrisville State College hosted the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Northern Division Volleyball Pool Play Tournament Saturday in Morrisville, and Keuka College posted two wins to remain undefeated in the North.
In the first of the day's action, Cazenovia College posted a three-game comeback over host Morrisville State, claiming the 3-1 win with match scores of 15-5, 25-17, 25-12, and 25-23.
