Nelson named SUNYAC Men’s Hockey Player of the Week

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced its player of the week awards, naming Morrisville State College’s junior forward, Jamie Nelson (Stratford, Ontario) the men’s ice hockey player of the week for the week ending January 20.

Nelson posted a goal and two assists in the overtime victory over Potsdam on Saturday. His goal came with 1.2 seconds remaining on the clock in the sudden victory period, in a contest that raised awareness for autism, organized by Nelson.

In 19 games this season, he has tallied five goals and 13 assists, registering 18 points.

The junior is majoring in business administration at Morrisville State. He is the son of Patti and Mark Nelson of Stratford, Ontario.
