Coffey earns NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad honors

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced its 2012 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad Tuesday afternoon, selecting Morrisville State freshman Megan Coffey (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) to its squad.

The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2012-13 academic year.

Coffey appeared in 10 games for Morrisville State on defense this past season. In early February, she was named to the prestigious State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) All-Academic Team.

The freshman is a graduate of Arlington High and is majoring in equine science and management at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Carol and Raymond Coffey of Pleasant Valley.
