Morrisville State women's basketball ends season with win

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Junior guard, Donniesha Terry (Syracuse, NY) hit a three and seconds later a jumper to lift the Morrisville State College women’s basketball team to a 68-66 win over visiting Lyndon State College.

Trailing for the entire contest, Terry hit a three with 2:12 remaining in the contest to bring the Mustangs within one as Lyndon State held a 64-63 edge. With 1:11 remaining, Terry hit her second three, tying the contest for Morrisville State and giving the Mustangs the momentum for the final minute of the game. With seconds remaining Stacey Hardnett (Syracuse, NY) intercepted a Lyndon State pass and found Terry who hit an open jumper, giving the Mustangs their first lead of the contest with less than twenty seconds remaining.

A last second scoring attempt by the Hornets failed as Morrisville State (4-19) upset Lyndon State (17-5) with the 68-66 victory in their final inaugural season contest.

Shanee Pierce (Bronx, NY) led Morrisville State with 18 points and 13 rebounds as Terry netted 12 points. Hardnett and Trisha Kaufmann (East Aurora, NY) added 11 points and six boards each in the win.

Sara Fetterhoff led all scorers with 21 points for Lyndon State, adding nine rebounds. Jennifer White added 16 points to the loss. Lyndon led 34-29 at the half.
