Sledding, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and snow sculpting are among the activities Morrisville State College students will be partaking in during Winter Fest, Feb. 19.
Events, which are free and open to the public, will take place from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Building and the Morrisville-Eaton Elementary School baseball field, both located on Eaton Street.

Tim Wierman, a nationally renowned speaker on the topic of sports nutrition, will be speaking at Morrisville State College tonight at 7 p.m. in the Student Activities Center Theatre.
Wierman will address topics related to sports nutrition including fuel for the athlete, pre-competition meal planning, recovery foods, and fluid replacements for the athlete.

The Morrisville State College men's basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak Wednesday night, posting a victory over North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) rival Cazenovia College by an 88-71 final in Cazenovia.
Morrisville State led by three at the break before Cazenovia shot just 27 percent from the floor, compared to the Mustangs 59 percent, in the second half.

The Morrisville State College athletic department has named freshman hockey defenseman, James Jarvis (Pickering, ONT) the Mustang Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 23.
Jarvis posted a goal and assist in the 3-2 loss to #14 Hobart College on Saturday. He assisted the first score in the second period to cut the Statesman lead to one, before netting a power play score in the 19th minute of the final period to complete Mustang scoring.

Morrisville State College, in partnership with Norse Energy Corp, is hosting two free informational workshops on potential careers in the natural gas industry.
The workshops will be held at the college's Norwich campus Feb. 16, from 6-7 p.m., in the community room of Roger Follett Hall, and at the Morrisville campus March 9, from 6-7 p.m., in Charlton Hall, room 125.

Host Keuka College women's basketball rolled to a 70-45 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory over visiting Morrisville State College Saturday afternoon in Keuka Park.
Nijah Townsend (Bronx, NY) led Morrisville State with 17 points, grabbing seven rebounds, as the Mustangs drop to 2-12 overall on the season, 2-10 in conference action.
LaQuiesha Jenkins (Syracuse, NY) added eight points in the loss for the Mustangs.

Morrisville State College ice hockey fell short Saturday night to #14 nationally ranked Hobart College, recording a 3-2 non-conference loss in Geneva.
Morrisville State is now 8-7-1 on the season, while Hobart improves to 12-4-1.

The Morrisville State College men's basketball team dropped their third straight contest, falling to host Keuka College on the road in Keuka Park by a 73-59 final.
Keuka converted on 56 percent of shots taken in the first half, compared to 36 for Morrisville State, to take a 35-27 lead at the half.

Nate Cross (Hudson Falls, NY) was first to put points on the board for the Mustangs, recording a major decision (14-1) over Adam Huguinine in the 165 pound weight class.

Harrisburg raced out to a 28-15 point lead at the half, and led by as many as 22 in the second in the win.

Four netted double figures for the Mustangs, but the Nittany Lions shot 58 percent from the floor in the contest and tallied 51 first half points in the win.

Brandon Hanks (Syracuse, NY) recorded a team best 16 points, adding six boards and five assists to lead the Mustangs. Wayne Turner (Brooklyn, NY) added 13 for Morrisville State, grabbing six rebounds and stealing six.

Visiting Cazenovia College women's basketball claimed a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory Wednesday night, topping host Morrisville State College 62-51 in Morrisville.
Cazenovia held a 28-22 lead at the break before shooting 51.9 percent from the floor in the second half en route to the win.
