Cortland hands Morrisville State men 68-39 league loss

CORTLAND, N.Y. - Junior Will Coston (Kerhonkson/Rondout Valley) led five double-figure scorers with 16 points as Cortland defeated Morrisville, 68-39, in SUNYAC action. Seniors Juan Miolan (Troy) and Carson Niehoff (West Islip) added 13 points apiece for the Red Dragons (3-3, 1-1 SUNYAC).

Coston also registered six rebounds and three steals. Miolan made 6-of-10 shots from the floor and Niehoff hit 5-of-8 attempts, including 3-of-5 from three-point range.

Sophmore Steve Manning (Elmira/Elmira Southside) connected on 5-of-6 shots for a career-high 12 points and also grabbed four rebounds. Junior Mike Lewis (Brewerton/Central Square) finished with 10 points and six rebounds and junoir Paul Oliver (Phoenix) pulled down eight rebounds.

Elonzo Wilson (Syracuse/Fowler) scored six points to lead Morrisville (0-5, 0-2 SUNYAC). The Mustangs were held to 26 percent shooting from the field (14-of-54), including just seven percent (1-of-15) from behind the three-point arc.

Cortland led 21-12 with 4:09 left in the first half before finishing the period on a 9-0 run. The Red Dragons' lead grew to as high as 37 points at 65-28 with 3:32 remaining.
