Morrisville State College Adds Online Agricultural Classes to its Course Arsenal
MORRISVILLE, N.Y. — Morrisville State College will offer three online agricultural courses during the winter term, spring semester and summer term.
The three-credit courses can be applied toward a two-year degree in agricultural business or a four-year bachelor of business administration degree in agricultural business development.
Courses being offered are:
Agricultural Economics, which is offered during the winter term and spring semester, includes topics on the commercial banking system, monetary and fiscal policy, supply and demand, gross national product and the consumer price index, global international trade and United States and New York economics.
Students taking Marketing Agricultural Products will learn about supply and demand analysis, elasticity of demand and commodity futures exchange. This course, offered during the winter term and spring semester, will also cover market structure, marketing orders, pricing, advertising and more.
Agricultural Finance, offered during the winter and summer terms, will introduce students to the important uses of credit, including real estate, capital equipment, annual operating needs and more. Different sources of credit, repayment schedules, refinancing and loan rates, chattel and real estate appraisals will also be discussed.
Morrisville State College offers a variety of online courses, lending flexibility and convenience to students.
“Taking a class online, I was concerned that I would lose a lot of interaction with the professor and students, but that was not the case,” said Jessica Carroll, equine science and management B.T. student. “The online course was interactive, educational and fun. I thoroughly enjoyed my online experience and would recommend it to anyone.”

In addition to the agricultural business development bachelor degree, Morrisville State College offers agriculture-related bachelor degrees in dairy management, equine science and renewable resources technology.
Morrisville State College also offers associate degree programs in the following agriculture-related fields: agricultural business, agricultural mechanics, animal science—dairy, agricultural science, equine science and management, equine racing management, horticulture, aquaculture and aquatic science, environmental and natural resources conservation and natural resources conservation.
Students who complete associate degrees in agricultural and business-related areas at Morrisville State College can continue their education at Morrisville in the agricultural business development bachelor degree program.
Morrisville State College offers more than 75 bachelor and associate degrees and options. The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus offers associate degree programs in accounting, business, computer systems technology, office administration, liberal arts transfer, nursing, early childhood, criminal justice and human services to south central New York residents and employers. Students may also apply coursework to other associate or bachelor degrees at the main campus.
