Morrisville State College head football coach Curt Fitzpatrick announced the addition of Tom Dyer to the Mustang coaching staff, overseeing the  offensive line in the fall 2013. The native of Rochester, N.Y. (Greece Olympia HS) comes to Morrisville State from Utica College where he was a four-year member and two-year starter on the offensive line. During his time with the Pioneers, he was instrumental in helping to protect for the top offensively Empire 8 ranked program that averaged 34.2 points per contest this past season.
The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its 2012-13 scholar-athlete selections, naming 20 Morrisville State College student-athletes to the academic honor roll. To be named a scholar-athlete, students must achieve a GPA of 3.4 or higher for the fall and spring semesters combined while participating in a NEAC sponsored sport. On the year, a total of 512 NEAC student-athletes from 16 member institutions earned the academic honor. The following student-athletes at Morrisville State were awarded scholar-athlete accolades:
The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) announced its 2012-13 All-Academic Team, expanding to include student-athletes from affiliate member programs for the first time in the conference history. More than 700 student-athletes received the honor, including Morrisville State College junior defensive back Austin Erlwein (Jeffersonville, N.Y.) who was named to the honorable mention team.
The Morrisville State College athletic department has announced the addition of men’s golf to its intercollegiate sport offerings, beginning in the fall 2013 semester. The addition brings the Mustangs athletic offerings to 16 overall, a majority of which competes in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) of the NCAA, Division III.

Four Morrisville State College ice hockey student-athletes have received academic honors from the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC), as announced Wednesday morning, earning all-Academic Team and Commissioner’s List accolades. To be named to the Commissioner’s List, members must maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average for at least three semesters while competing.
Morrisville State College will welcome four new members into its Athletics Wall of Fame on Friday, June 21, as announced by Athletic Director Greg Carroll. Slated to be inducted are Susan Schmidtka (grounds staff), Dr. Raymond Cross (President), Elisa Oliver (basketball) and Ousman Jobe (soccer).
The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced the winners of the 2012-13 President’s Cup during the conference’s annual spring retreat this week, with Morrisville State College capturing the men’s crown for a second consecutive year.
The ECAC announced its 2013 Division III Mid-Atlantic Women’s Lacrosse All-Star Awards, naming Morrisville State College sophomore midfielder, Shelby Wood (Duanesburg, N.Y.) to its first team. Wood played a significant role in Morrisville State’s success this season, wrapping up another stellar season leading the team in scoring with 88 goals and 25 assists for 113 team points, with 20 of her scores coming on free position opportunities. Six of her tallies were game winners.
The Morrisville State College athletics department will be offering a week-long Mustang Basketball Camp and All-Sports Camp this summer, on the Morrisville State campus. From July 8 – 12, Morrisville State will be hosting a Mustang Basketball Camp that will place emphasis on basic basketball skills and fundamentals on a daily basis. Campers will be placed into groups based on skill level and will participate in game like situations. The camp is designed to focus on individual skill development while maintaining a competitive atmosphere.
