Overview
The Institutional Effectiveness Council (IEC) ensures SUNY Morrisville continues to align planning, assessment, and improvement efforts across the campus. The Council plays a vital role in advancing the goals outlined in Strategic Plan: 2030, providing leadership and oversight to ensure the college meets its mission and remains responsive to changing challenges.
By fostering a culture of evidence-based decision-making and collaboration, the IEC tracks progress toward institutional goals, maintains accreditation standards, and advises on key institutional priorities.
Responsibilities
The IEC is a presidentially appointed body that monitors and tracks SUNY Morrisville’s progress toward fulfilling its mission and achieving institutional goals. It promotes a campus-wide culture of assessment, supports evidence-based decision-making, and encourages the use of institutional research best practices. The Council also ensures compliance with the standards set by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and serves as an advisory group to campus leadership on strategic priorities and initiatives.
Member Expectations
IEC members are drawn from diverse areas of the college and bring unique expertise and perspectives to the table actively participating in meetings, contributing their knowledge, and serving as advocates for institutional effectiveness in their departments. Members have a strong understanding of strategic planning, assessment practices, institutional research, and accreditation to help promote best practices across the campus community.
