The Library is offering its fifth installment of the Video Game Book Club Series for students, faculty, and staff. In a Video Game Book Club, participants play the same selected title on their own, and then come together to talk about their experience: gameplay, story, art, music, etc. The Library's selected game this year is Toby Fox’s award-winning title Undertale, available on all major gaming platforms.

Undertale is described by the creator as “an RPG for PC, Mac, Linux, PS4, PS Vita, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. Long ago, two races ruled over the Earth: HUMANS and MONSTERS. In this RPG, you don't have to kill anyone. Each enemy can be "defeated" nonviolently. Dance with a slime. Pet a dog. Whisper your favorite secret to a knight. Or, ignore this choice and rain destruction upon your foes. But your journey will take determination. Each adversary has unique bullet patterns that you must dodge as well. (Don't worry, it's not that hard.) Emphasis on humor, character dialogue, and player choice...”

Sponsored by a CAB grant, the Library will give away several copies of Undertale for participants at the Kickoff event on Friday, February 2nd at 3PM. We will then have our first game discussion session on Friday, February 23rd with a final discussion session on Friday, March 29th. All meeting will be held in the Library Conference Room and via Teams. We look forward to seeing you there!
