Cyber-bullying

The use of digital media which is intended to, or has the effect of, embarrassing, harassing, disturbing or otherwise harming another individual will not be tolerated. 'Digital media' includes social networking sites cell phone text messaging and other related forms of electronic communication. Students who take sides in cyber-bullying cases will be considered participants and may be investigated for misconduct. An example of taking sides is hitting the thumbs-up 'like' button on Face book in reaction to an inappropriate remark, but other ways of being a participant may exist and will be investigated. Students that are involved with cyber-bullying will be charged for Harassment under the Student Code of Conduct violations.
