The SUNY Morrisville 2023 Commencement is quickly approaching! This year’s Commencement will be held on Saturday, May 13, at 1 p.m. in the new Student Recreation Center, located next to the IcePlex.
Application to Graduate
All December 2022, May 2023 and August 2023 graduates, regardless of whether they intend to participate in Commencement, are required to complete an Application to Graduate, which is available on Web for Students. Instructions on how to complete the application are below.
The deadline for completing the application is April 1, 2023. This form will confirm that your name appears and is spelled correctly in the program and on your diploma. It will also guarantee you a space and tickets at Commencement.
Any student who has earned at least 15 institutional credits and either 95+ total credits toward a bachelor's degree program or 45+ total credits toward an associate degree program should be able to log into their Web for Students portal and submit the application if they are expecting to be a December 2022, May 2023 and August 2023 graduate. Cap & Gown and Graduation Tickets
Cap & Gown
A cap and gown are required for all participating graduates. Caps and gowns can be preordered through the Campus Store website, by phone at 315.684.6073 or in person at the Campus Bookstore (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.).
Tickets
All graduates will receive four guest tickets for graduation. Tickets can be collected from the Campus Store at the end of March with the purchase and pickup of a cap and gown, as well as during Grad Finale held at STUAC from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Thursday, April 13. Please be sure to give each of your guests a ticket in advance of Commencement day.
If you would like to request additional tickets beyond the four provided, please submit an additional guest tickets request form and you will be notified if your request is approved, along with directions on picking up the extra tickets. Please note that additional tickets are limited.

Commencement Day
Location
The ceremony will be held indoors in the SUNY Morrisville Student Recreation Center, located next to the IcePlex.
Doors open at 11 a.m.
For the safety of everyone attending the ceremony, all bags will be checked upon entry to the Student Recreation Center.
Arrival and Lineup
Be sure to arrive on Saturday, May 13, by noon for lineup with your program. Lineup will take place at the IcePlex.
Parking
Most campus parking lots are available for visitor parking on Commencement day. New York State University Police will assist visitors with parking.
Continuous shuttle service also will be provided from the A Lot to the ceremony site.

Guest Seating
Tickets are required for entry to the ceremony. Please see the "Tickets" section above for more information.
Accessibility seating sections also are available. Please check with ushers at the ceremony site if you require specific assistance.
Viewing Location
A viewing of the ceremony will be available at the Student Activities Center Theater, where unlimited additional family members and guests may comfortably view the proceedings. No tickets are required at the viewing location. College personnel are happy to assist family and friends with finding the additional viewing location the day of the ceremony.

Duration
The ceremony is estimated to last approximately 2 1/2 hours.
Following Commencement
Photo with Mustang Statue
As has become tradition for many graduating classes, be sure to take a photo in front of the Mustang Statue! The statue, which has become integral to Morrisville pride, is located in the Administrative Quad found in front of the Whipple Administration Building.
Reception
All graduates and their guests are invited to a campus reception on the Administrative Quad directly following the ceremony (rain location: STUAC gym).

Dining
The Copper Turret Restaurant, which serves as a teaching facility for our students, is an American-style bistro that prides itself on a delicious and innovative menu. Advanced reservations can be made by calling 315.684.6699.
