My name is Campbell Copland and I’m an advisor for the ASAP|ACE program here at SUNY Morrisville. For better and worse, I was born and raised in Central New York, specifically Cazenovia. From there, I received my BA in English Literature at St. Lawrence University, and an MFA in creative writing from Goddard College.

I’ve been working in higher education for upwards of a decade in a variety of roles: as an associate lecturer and adjunct professor, as a tutor, as an advisor and success coach. Before landing at SUNY Morrisville, I taught composition and was a writing coach for the TRIO SSS program at Cazenovia College.

I love to imbue students with an autonomy and resilience that allows them to follow through on the mind-expanding opportunities higher education entails. As a writing teacher, I’ve forever been preoccupied with helping students find their Voice, and this preoccupation carries over metaphorically with the kind of support and guidance I offer students in my role as an ASAP|ACE advisor.

In my free time, I can be found either reading, writing, watching films, or playing basketball.
