Sara Dougherty works interdepartmentally between SUNY Morrisville’s Library and Accessibility Services teams. She manages campus-wide professional tutoring services, supports accessibility service processes, supervises student employees, assists with library operations, and helps students connect with the academic resources they need to succeed! Before coming to SUNY Morrisville, Sara achieved her Master's Degree of Science in Natural Resource Conservation and Management, with a concentration in Sustainable Communities. She has taught at several New York State colleges and universities, across a multitude of subject areas including horticulture, culinary arts, outdoor recreation, agriculture, and animal sciences. Sara’s multidisciplinary practices go far beyond her roles in higher academia. When she’s not at work, Sara is a tree hugging, dirt worshiping, moon watching, animal whispering earthling who believes the world would be a better place if there were more gardens and fewer spreadsheets about quarterly profits. She’s a practicing draft-horse and draft-dog teaching teamster, who’s passionate about organic farming, environmental stewardship, restorative justice, the ancient art of witchcraft, and wild edibles foraging. Sara is happiest when she is growing something, learning about the natural world, teaching others, working with animals, and building a world where purpose matters more than profit.
