Arce, Turner named Mustang Athletes of the Week

The Morrisville State College athletic department has named women's basketball sophomore, Keyla Arce (Bronx, NY) and junior men's basketball student-athlete, Wayne Turner (Brooklyn, NY) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 6.



Arce, guard, led the women's team to a 1-2 week, recording 49 points, 25 rebounds and eight assists in three games. In the upset victory over Penn State Berks, Arce tallied 22 points and 12 boards, shooting .471 percent from the floor.



She is currently averaging 8.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game for the Mustangs.



The graduate of Bronx Leadership Academy is majoring in criminal justice at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Yadira Arce of Bronx.



Turner, point guard for the men, posted 55 points over three games to lead the team to a 3-0 week, including two conference wins in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) to move the men into sixth place.



In the win over Abington, Turner posted a collegiate high 30 points, hitting 11-of-17 from the floor and 7-of-7 from the free throw line, adding seven rebounds and two assists and steals to his tallies. On the week, he averaged 6.6 rebounds and 18.3 points for the Mustangs, shooting near perfect from the free throw line, hitting 10-of-11.



The graduate of William Grady High School is majoring in individual studies at Morrisville State.
