Brown, Rios earn NJAC Player of the Week honors

The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) recently announced its players of the week for the week ending October 2nd, naming Morrisville State's Anthony Brown (Rochester, NY) and Juan Rios (Grahamsville, NY) as the defensive and special team's players of the week.



Brown, junior linebacker, led the Mustangs to their second NJAC victory in program history, as Morrisville State topped rival Brockport 48-41 Saturday night. Tallying a career high 16 total tackles (eight solo), Brown also forced a pair of fumbles, one of which led to a key second quarter defensive score for the Mustangs.



He currently ranks third in the conference in tackles, averaging 10.2 per game.



The architectural studies and design major at Morrisville State is a graduate of Gates Chili High.



Rios, freshman kicker, earns special team's player of the week honors after tallying a 12 point night for the Mustangs in the victory over Brockport. He was successful on the first two field goal attempts of his collegiate career, hitting from 20 and 26-yards, respectively, and was a perfect 6-for-6 on extra-point attempts.



He currently leads the NJAC in field goal percentage (100.0).



The liberal arts and sciences major at Morrisville State is a graduate of Tri-Valley High.
